Battlestar Galactica

Just finished watching the first part of the SciFi Channel’s updated mini-series based on the old Battlestar Galactica series.

Honestly, while far from perfect, it’s a vast improvement on the original, and other than a few design decisions which I haven’t warmed to yet, such as the slight redesign of the Galactica itself, the fanboys who are whining about this being a “travesty” compared to the original can just bite me.

  1. Many people said it was good but shouldn’t really bear the name Galactica.
I tend to agree. They changed background story, plot and design, introduced new key characters and removed old ones as well as heavily modified the remaining ones in poth personality and relationships. It’s basically not Galactica anymore beyond a few names and traces of design from the original.

Oh, and the “heads” on the Cylon ships look silly.
