Cyber Monday: Protect Your Online Shopping

I had an opportunity to speak about Cyber Monday and how to best protect your online shopping experience on today’s Wills & Snyder show on Cleveland’s WTAM 1100.

I also wrote a Cyber Monday Survival Guide for Best Buy On to help you best prepare for this online shopping holiday.

This year marks the 5th “Cyber Monday” since the original declaration by Shop.org in 2005. The theory behind the day was that most people would come back to work on the Monday after the busy Thanksgiving weekend and do their online shopping through the faster Internet connection at work.

Although faster home broadband options mean many people will shop online throughout the holiday season, most retailers will have Cyber Monday specials available on their websites. All without having to stand outside a store in the cold for hours waiting for Black Friday.

I had a chance to talk to Bill Wills on Cleveland’s WTAM 1100 about the day and tips from the Geek Sqyad on how to reuse, regift and recycle your home electronics. You can find out more at bestbuy.com/recycle

Work continues on the 2010 Halloween display at the Meister House. We decided to move the graveyard from the side to the front of the house. Once setup is complete, we’ll use a small FM transmitter to allow people driving by to listen in on the show, which will be setup to run daily between 7 to 9pm.

The lightshow is run using a D-Light 16 channel controller hooked up to a small home-built PC running AuroraShow.

5 Common Security Threats

I had a chance this morning to talk to the Wills & Snyder Show on WTAM 1000 in Cleveland about the current 5 common security threats.
