WordPress 1.5.1.2 Update
The WordPress development blog has an entry up alerting users of the popular blogging software about their latest security update:
It has come to our attention that under certain circumstances there is a security vulnerability in WordPress that may be triggered if you’re running the default template. We were able to respond very quickly (under 40 minutes) and update the download to 1.5.1.2. You can upgrade by overwriting your old 1.5 files or if you would like to apply the fix manually it is relatively simple
The latest version, 1.5.1.2, is available from the WordPress download site, along with installation and upgrade instructions.
Calvin and Hobbes Return … in Reruns
Andrews McMeel Publishing has issued a press release about the “return” of the beloved “Calvin and Hobbes” comic strip to newspapers later this year.
The strips that newspapers are being allowed to publish from September 4th through December 31st are reprints of strips that ran between November 18th, 1985 and January 1st, 1996. The reruns are designed to promote the publisher’s three-volume “The Complete Calvin and Hobbes

Star Wars Nerds vs Darwin
The UK’s Mirror has a brief mention of an incident involving two Star Wars fans who obviously had far more enthusiasm for making a fan-film than brains.
The couple, aged 17 and 20, decided to recreate the CGI-created lightsabers from the films by filling two fluorescent light tubes with gasoline and taking a match to them.
According to the report, the two are currently in critical condition in a UK hospital.
