Mozilla updates …

Since Mozilla has release candidates available for Firefox 0.9 RC and Mozilla 1.7 RC 3, I figured Id take the latest version of their lite browser for a spin on the Fedora Core 2 Linux workstation.

Im not a huge fan of the new interface icons, but theyre not annoying in any way, more of a meh feeling thats accompanied just about every Phoenix, Firebird, Firefox release icon set prior.

The real joy comes from having Google.coms site pop up and ready to go within seconds of clicking on the Firefox icon. Nice and fast is always a good thing in an application that I use probably more often than anything outside of my email client.

I havent really gone to enough sites to comment on compatibility, so that will be something to look for, though I doubt there will be many changes from the 0.8 release, which I had few problems with.

Stupid weather …

Two things that really dont go well together:

JUNE 10th and 64°F

Weve had several days of that temperature range this month, followed by a few brief days of near 90°F weather, and now were back into that cold, wet weather again. The weekend looks to warm up a bit, but really, I cant wait for summer-like conditions to finally get here.

Torpedoes away!

Lima takes a dipThe wiener dogs were panting pretty hard today, which was a mistake on their part because it meant a quick trip to the pool for a little swim. The water was warm enough to be pleasant, but cool enough to make a difference, and the dogs got a bit of exercise swimming in circles like two little black torpedoes cutting through the water as fast as their fat little paws would take them.

Theyre mad at me now, of course, but at least theyre no longer panting now that the first hints of summer have suddenly descended upon northeast Ohio with near-90°F weather making an appearance here and there.
