… And That’s Why I Was Late.

View from a few miles away from the Painesville, Ohio train fire.

This was the view I had of the large train fire that occurred yesterday in Painesville, Ohio. While I was never less than a few miles away from the actual location, I could see the large, black pillars of smoke very clearly throughout the day.

Handling traffic through Painesville is difficult on normal days due to all the construction. However, with all the traffic into and out of the city due to the incident, things slowed to a craw. A fact that wasn’t helped by parts of the two highways that pass right by the on-going fire having been closed by the police. It took me nearly an hour to drive what is normally a 10 minute trip.

Portal to My Heart

When I originally watched the above Portal trailer a few months ago, I figured that the game would be a mildly amusing, but short diversion with a gimmick that would quickly get old.

Instead, I got a near perfect three hours of puzzle game that beats all others in humor content and even gives Bioshock’s well-received storyline a run for its money during the end levels.

It’s Better in Mentor 2007 Festival Parade

Its Better In Mentor Festival Parade 2007

This weekend marks the annual “It’s Better in Mentor” festival that takes place in Mentor, Ohio every September, and one of the events to look forward to is the parade that shows off the entertainment and businesses from around the area. I participated once again by driving the Geek Squad Geekmobile in the parade.

Photos from this year’s parade can be found here in my photo gallery.
